Jonny Woo: Suburbia
King Street, Bristol, BS1 4ED
Description
Visionary alt-drag and cabaret artist Jonny Woo brings his hit show Suburbia to The Weston Studio.
A unique blend of performance art, storytelling and spoken word, Suburbia is a theatrical memoir about Jonny's life – from his childhood in the Medway Towns, Kent, to discovering the drug ‘ecstasy’ in the 90s, the clubs of New York and to building a queer community in London.
Now in his fifties, Woo is reflective and honest about the secrets he harboured and the lessons he learnt. His wit is sharp and his desire to shock and surprise is evident throughout.
Suburbia played to sold-out houses at Soho Theatre in 2025 and to critical acclaim at Summerhall as part of their Edinburgh Fringe 2025 programme.
