I Belong Here – Anita Sethi

Millennium Gallery, Arundel Gate, Sheffield, S1 2PP

Description

On a journey through The Pennines in 2019 Anita Sethi became the victim of a race hate crime – an attack on her right to exist in a place on account of her race. Intent on not letting her experience stop her travelling, Anita makes a journey of reclamation showing this is her land too and reflects upon issues exploring themes of identity, place and belonging. Her journey transforms an ugly experience of hate into one offering hope. Anita Sethi is a writer and journalist. I Belong Here is the first in her nature writing trilogy.

“A brilliant, brave and important book” Robert MacFarlane
