Description

DEATH AND THE MAIDEN
produced by tríada - written by ARIEL DORFMAN

Death and the Maiden was written in 1990 by Chilean playwright Ariel Dorfman. Set in an unnamed country emerging from a dictatorship, the play explores the after effects of repression on peoples' lives, mental health and relationships. Relentlessly paced and filled with lethal surprises, it is an inquest into the darker side of humanity--one in which everyone is implicated and justice itself comes to seem like a fragile, perhaps ambiguous invention. A tense psychological thriller about justice and relationships that will keep you breathless!

tríada is a Greco-British theatre company tackling big social issues in small, intimate, diverse spaces. We create immersive performances that provoke thought and incite conversation by dealing with the truths of the human condition. tríada aims to create new experiences to our audiences, in a live, almost cinematic approach, while embracing the fascinating energy of theatre. This way every performance is different, unique.
