Patrice Lawrence is a multi-award winning author brought up in an Italian-Trinidadian household in Sussex. She has been writing for as long as she has been reading and her first novel, Orangeboy won the Waterstones Book Prize for Older Children. Her latest book is Splinters of Sunshine, a YA road-trip mystery. She also has a story included in Happy Here, a new anthology by Black writers and illustrators for younger children to be given free to every primary school this autumn. Hear Patrice talk about her journey as a writer and why music can’t help creeping into her books.
